Regardless of what you are promoting on your WordPress website, there are (and always will be) two things that will be of the outmost importance to every visitor that lands on your website.

  1. Website Speed
  2. Website Security
Make a WordPress Website Faster and More Secure

Lacking either of these will result in and contribute to lack of conversions.

Below are a few ways that you can test your WordPress website for its speed and http header security.

Testing Your Websites Speed

There are two places I recommend to test your websites speed.

  1. Google Page Speed Insights
  2. GTMetrix

Each one of those offer different types of information, and personally I prefer GTMetrix. I believe the "Learn how to improve this" sections are easier to understand, but that could be just me.

In most cases a cache plugin and/or adding a CDN (Content Delivery System) will considerably improve your speed scores.

However, there are hundreds of cache plugins as well as several good CDN's, so where should you start?

Suggested WordPress Cache Plugin

  1. WP-Rocket
  2. Hummingbird
  3. W3 Total Cache
  4. W3 Super Cache

If you have a small budget for premium cache plugin, for only $49/year WPRocket comes highly recommended.

W3 Super Cache is also a good one for no charge. It is also very easy to set up.

Suggested CDN (Content Delivery System)

  1. STACKPATH CDN

If you have the budget and your websites speed is important to you, for S10/mo. you can't go wrong. This is the CDN that the SEO Alien uses and I am quite satisfied.

Testing Your HTTP Header Security

Here the one place that you need to check your http header for security issues.

  1. securityheaders.com

If you know what you are dong with the htaccess file you can start securing your websites HTTP header, however most people are not that knowledgeable, so it's best you use caution if you are not familiar.

Good new is, there are a few plugins that can help, but again, there are some issues that you will most likely run into, so it would be best to hire a professional who know what they are doing.

However, if you would like to add your own security headers here is how. You will need to have access to your .htaccess file and the rest of what you need to know can be found here. https://really-simple-ssl.com/site-health-recommended-security-headers/

Hope this helps you get started on the right foot if you are wanting to get more website speed and HTTP Header Security.
